Abilene, TX – Boy Struck by Vehicle on Kirkwood St

Abilene, TX (August 14, 2020) – A pedestrian accident left a teenaged boy seriously injured in the Abilene area. On August 9, the Abilene Police Department responded to the scene of a collision on Kirkwood Street.

Reports show that a 13-year-old boy went over to swim at his friend’s house on Sunday. At around 9 p.m., then young teen was walking near Kirkwood Street and North 12th Street when a dog jumped over a fence and began chasing him. The teen attempted to flee the dog when he was struck by a car. The teen sustained several broken bones, traumatic head injuries, and various other injuries in the accident. The boy was rushed to Hendrick Medical Center and flown to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
