Abilene, TX (December 14, 2020) – A fire in the Abilene area claimed one man’s life early Sunday morning. At around 3:50 a.m., on December 13, emergency crews were called to the site of a house fire on Caldwell Road.

Reports from authorities show that a single-family residential mobile home in the 4200 block of Caldwell Road caught on fire during the early morning hours for unknown reasons.

The fire caused extensive damage to the home extending from the floor to the roof. After extinguishing the fire, crews were able to enter the structure to search for victims.

Crews discovered 55-year-old Michael Czeto inside the home. He was fatally injured in the incident. Crews pronounced the man deceased due to his injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
