Clyde, TX – Phillip W. Elkins Killed in FM 603 Motorcycle Crash
Clyde, TX (December 22, 2020) – A motorcycle crash reported in Clyde claimed one man’s life on Sunday evening. Just before 6 p.m., on December 20, the Texas Department of Public Safety was called to the site of a crash on Farm to Market Road 603.
Reports from authorities show that 67-year-old Phillip W Elkins was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson south on Farm to Market Road 603 when his vehicle collided with a 2001 Ford pickup truck, which was driven by 82-year-old George Walker.
The impact of the crash caused the rider to be thrown from his vehicle. Elkins was transported via ambulance to Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that Elkins later succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation with DPS.
