Fort Worth, TX – Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on North Freeway

Fort Worth, TX (October 19, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident reported on Thursday morning left one person critically injured in the Fort Worth area. Just after 10:10 a.m., on October 15, the Fort Worth Police Department and firefighters responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on North Freeway.

According to reports, a motorcyclist was traveling behind a semi-truck on the North Freeway. As the vehicles proceeded forward, the semi-truck ran over a metal object in the road. The wheels on the semi-truck caused the metal object to fly backward, striking the man on his motorcycle in the head.

The impact caused the rider to lose control of his bike and crash into a median before being ejected into the opposite side of the freeway. The rider was then struck by a vehicle.

The rider sustained critical and life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted from the site of the incident to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the victim injured in this accident. We hope for his full recovery.
