Sweetwater, TX – Kelcey Lynn Ronning Killed in Head-On Crash on TX-70
Sweetwater, TX (July 9, 2020) – The victim who lost her life in a head-on collision earlier this week has been identified by police as Kelcey Lynn Ronning. Just before noon on July 6, emergency crews were called to the site of a collision on Texas Highway 70.
Reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety show that 24-year-old KIelcey Lynn Ronning was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram north on TX-70 when her vehicle collided with a southbound 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck. Ronning suffered fatal injuries and was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, 84-year-old Martin McDonell, was transported to Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A passenger in the pickup truck, 62-year-old John Clyde Gillentine, Jr. was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. DPS confirmed that investigations surrounding this accident are ongoing.
