Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
Each year, more than 500 motorcyclists die as a result of motor vehicle accidents across Texas. The fact that motorcyclists are relatively unprotected during collisions means they are more likely to suffer fatal injuries in accidents. This is particularly true in cases where motorcycles collide with other vehicles sharing the road. Statistics show that around 80% of all fatal collisions are a result of driver error. When drivers are intoxicated, distracted, or engaging in reckless behaviors while driving, they place others at extraordinary risk of being harmed.
Around 15% of those killed in traffic-related incidents throughout our state are using motorcycles at the time of their accidents. These preventable accidents continue to cause overwhelming mental and emotional suffering for families who are forced to endure the consequences of losing loved ones unexpectedly. Not only are families forced to experience overwhelming mental and emotional pain and suffering after an unexpected loss, but they are often forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars on funerals while dealing with lost earnings and other financial burdens. Although it can seem as if no amount of compensation will ever make us whole again after losing loved ones in accidents that are completely avoidable, families can work with wrongful death attorneys in Texas to obtain the compensation they need to cover the financial burdens they face moving forward.
