Abilene, TX (July 30, 2020) – A young child was left injured after a motor vehicle accident in Abilene on Monday, according to reports. At approximately 1:20 p.m., on July 27, the Abilene Police Department was called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash on US Highway 83 Business.

Reports provided by authorities show that a gold 2003 Chevrolet sedan collided with a black 2016 Ford sedan in the 1700 block of US Highway 83 Business. The crash resulted in extensive front end damages to both vehicles involved. The 18-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured in the crash.

Neither the 30-year-old female driver of the Ford nor the 6-year-old passenger of the Ford were injured. However, authorities report that a 2-year-old male sustained injuries in the accident. The young child was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries immediately following the crash. At this time, police in Abilene are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
