Car Accidents in Texas

San Angelo, TX – Three People Injured in Crash on US-87Each year, car accidents throughout the state of Texas leave more than 17,500 people seriously injured. In many cases, victims are rushed to local hospitals where they have to undergo emergency medical treatment. Being injured and forced off work for several weeks or even months is not only challenging for victims but their families as well. Even though the majority of accidents are preventable, we continue to experience the devastation caused by others. Depending on the type of accident, the speed at which vehicles are traveling, and various other factors, victims are likely to sustain broken bones, brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries in collisions.

Although we can be vigilant about controlling our own vehicles, keeping our eyes on the road, and helping to ensure the safety of others sharing the road, there is very little that we can do to ensure others sharing the road remain as careful. Statistics show that nearly 80% of collisions each year are a result of driver error. When drivers engage in distracting behaviors, drive impaired, or are reckless while operating their vehicles, they are likely to cause accidents that can leave others with life-altering injuries. When victims sustain injuries in accidents caused by negligent drivers, they should reach out to a car accident attorney in Texas as soon as possible.
